Thursday, July 24, 2008; 12:57 AM
Third Eye Blind will play at Burruss Auditorium on Sept. 30, 2008.

The ticket prices will be $20 for Tech students and $25 for general admission.

According to an e-mail sent by David Silberstein, director of VTU's concert program, the performer options for a homecoming show included Citizen Cope, Regina Spektor, Guster, The Fray, All American Rejects, Coheed and Cambria, Wilco, and Sara Bareilles. Third Eye Blind, however, received the most support and was booked.

There is no information yet regarding when tickets will go on sale or how many will be available. Burruss Auditorium has a maximum capacity of 2,927.

Virginia Tech Union declined comment.

Posted by: Ryan at 9/29/08 Bob, I was lucky enough to see 3EB perform twice last April and I have no doubt in saying that they were 2 of the best live shows I've ever seen. I guarantee that you wouldn't be wasting your time or money seeing them here at Tech. They've gone through many improvements in changes in the past 8 years. Flag Abuse

Posted by: Dave at 7/30/08 We used to have great concerts in Cassell, and Burruss (although the best concert was Robbin Thompson in Squires!) Flag Abuse
Posted by: Bob at 7/29/08 I've been a 3EB fan since their first album was released in '97 and I saw them in Salem 8 years ago. I have to say it was one of the worst concerts I've ever been to. I wouldn't be interested in wasting my money on another live performance. Flag Abuse
Posted by: Sue at 7/29/08 Hey Ryan, my friend who went to VT back in the day - Old School 1980 - said they had killer concerts in Cassell and the acoustics were excellent! So, maybe you have a good idea there! Flag Abuse
Posted by: to Ryan at 7/25/08 Third Eye Blind isn't exactly "The Beatles" do you know how much it would cost to run a concert @ Lane or Cassell...lots more than a auditorium Flag Abuse
Posted by: Ryan at 7/24/08 They should do it in Cassell! I'm sure they could fill up the place. However, Cassell might have really bad acoustics... How about Lane? :) Flag Abuse
