Dorenzo Hudson (bottom) is mobbed by his teammates after his game winning shot in overtime.

Game story: Hudson’s buzzer-beater gives Hokies OT victory over GT

Dorenzo Hudson:

On where the shot ranks for him in his career: “It ranks No. 1 for me right now. I just stayed in the moment, and I just had my chance to make a shot and it went down.”

On the play: “It was basketball, and we knew somebody was going to try and double somebody, and I just stepped in and knocked down the shot.”

On where he was looking for the play: “First of all you have to get the ball in bounds with four seconds left. I felt like Jarell Eddie was my best option coming off the screen.”

On if he saw it go in: “I actually didn’t see it go in, because I felt I got fouled. I see my teammates jumping on top of me, so I knew it went in.”

Seth Greenberg

Opening statement: “That was a heck of a win for our guys to come back after the devastation of the Florida State situation, and to come back and show the resiliency to figure out a way to win. You almost wonder if “21” was looking down upon us and just willed that ball in.”

On the key to the game: “The game was won because we only made five turnovers, we took care of the basketball.”

On why he subbed in Dorenzo for the final shot: “I subbed in Dorenzo not just because he made that shot, but because he’s a great inbounder. He’s our best inbound passer, and that’s why I subbed him in.”
