In what looks to be the conclusion of the Democratic student club saga at Liberty University, university Chancellor Jerry Falwell Jr. announced all politically oriented clubs will be unofficial, or unfunded, clubs.
According to this News and Advance article, Democratic and Republican student groups will now be viewed as unofficial clubs at Liberty.
They may still use university facilities, and identify themselves with the university, but receive no funding from the school.
Former Democratic club president Brian Diaz has already resigned from his position and announced plans to transfer.
The purpose of the change looks to be establishing a level ground for all political clubs, regardless of the university’s ideas. Zc
