Ice cream cone or racist symbol?

Customers gave this ice cream cone costume the cold shoulder, thinking it looked like a Ku Klux Klan costume.

The shop owner, who is from Puerto Rico and did not know what the Klan was, said he found the old costume in the back of the store and had an employee wear it to advertise the shop.

This professor had a good reason to be late for class

This University of Pennsylvania professor had a good reason for not showing up to the first day of class  - he had died months ago!

The email read:

“PSCI 291-301 is canceled.
We are so sorry for this last minute cancellation.
With Dr. Henry Teun
e’s passing, this course should have been cancelled over the summer and was an oversight.

College is banning bottled water

In an effort to reduce waste from plastic bottles, the College of Saint Benedict in Minnesota has banned the sale of plastic waterbottles by the college.

In addition the initiative being better for the environment, the school’s sustainability coordinator also said that access to water should be a right, not something for the college to profit off of.

Blacksburg is one of several localities in the New River Valley that is considering relaxing the rules on having backyard chickens.

Currently, chickens are only allowed in small rural residential zones, but some members of the community are pushing for chickens to be allowed in other zones as well.

Highest speed limit in the nation

If you have a lead foot, head to Texas, which is changing the speed limit to 85 mph on some of its roads.

The higher speed are only being considered for some rural roads, and other rural states such as Nevada and Montana have considered raising the speed limit as well.
