Thursday, Jan. 24
Noon – Chalk Talks (D2): Men’s basketball coaches share strategies for the next big game. Every student present has the chance to win T-shirts, autographed basketballs and student tickets.
8 p.m. – Men’s Basketball (Cassell Coliseum): Tech will go up against Virginia on Maroon Monsoon T-shirt night. The first 1500 fans inside will receive Cassell Guard headbands.
Friday, Jan. 25
7:30 p.m. — Band-A-Rama (Burruss Auditorium): The Virginia Tech Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble and The Marching Virginians will play a free concert that is open to the public.
8 p.m. – What Is This Thing Called Freedom? (The Lyric): Violinist Diane Monroe will perform with her jazz quartet and singer Paul Jost in reflection of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s life. General admission is $20, senior, faculty and staff tickets are $16, and student tickets are $10.
Saturday, Jan. 26
10 a.m. – Third Annual Gymnastics Open House (War Memorial): Children of all experience levels are invited to try out a variety of gymnastics classes offered by Rec Sports at Virginia Tech. Registration can be found online at www.recsports.vt.edu.
7:30 p.m. – Brass Ensemble Concert (Squires Recital Salon): Faculty and students of The Virginia Tech Honor Band will come together to perform for free.
Sunday, Jan. 27
1 p.m. – Sixteenth Annual VT Honor Band (Burruss Auditorium): The Blacksburg community is invited to the final performance of more than 500 students from seven different states. Admission is free.
2 p.m. – Men’s Wrestling (Cassell Coliseum): Virginia Tech will take on #16 Oklahoma.
