6:30 p.m. — Kwanzaa Celebration (Old Dominion Ballroom, Squires): The Black Student Alliance is hosting a celebration with a catered “soul food” dinner and performance by Life as Art Productions.
7 p.m. — Nikolausabend German Celebration (Cranwell International Center): The German Culture Club is hosting a cultural event for the German winter tradition. There will be a baking contest and German Christmas songs.
Friday, Dec. 7
6 p.m. — TubaChristmas (Blacksburg Farmer’s Market Square): Admire the Winter Lights Festival as you listen to local musicians playing Christmas songs on the tuba.
6 p.m. — Holiday Carolers at the Inn (Preston’s Restaurant, Inn at Virginia Tech): Enjoy a complimentary cup of hot chocolate as you listen to “Ad Hoctet,” an octet of carolers from Blacksburg Master Chorale’s.
8 p.m. — The Nutcracker (Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall, Radford University): Radford University’s portrayal of the classic Nutcracker ballet features two international dancers leading. General admission is $10.
Midnight — Late night movie: “Redline” (Lyric Theater): Go to the Lyric theater to see Redline — a film created by studio Madhouse, makers of “Paprika” and “Summer Wars” — for the late night showing.
Saturday, Dec. 8
2 p.m. — The Nutcracker (Bondurant Auditorium, Preston Hall, Radford University).
Midnight — Late night movie: “Redline” (Lyric Theater).
